Competition Terms and Conditions

Below are the terms and conditions that apply to this competition. If you have any queries, please send us an email by using the HELP button on the How It Works Page.

1. Information on how to enter and prizes forms part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

2. Entry is only open to Australian and New Zealand primary schools ("Eligible Schools"). Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.

3. Promotion commences at 12:01am AEST on 19/10/09. Entries close 11:59pm AEDST on 30/11/09 ("Promotional Period").

4. To enter, an authorised representative of the Eligible School must visit www.sunricedifference.com.au or www.sunricedifference.co.nz and register for the promotion by entering their name, their email address, a password, the name of the school, the postcode of the school and how many pupils are at the school. Registration is open from 03/08/09. Schools can register from this date or at any time during the Promotional Period.

5. During the Promotional Period, students must keep all blue UNICEF logos ("logo") from specially marked SunRice packs that have been purchased from a participating store, take them to school and hand them to the authorised representative of the Eligible School they attend. The authorised representative must tally the number of logos collected by students, by logging on to www.sunricedifference.com.au or www.sunricedifference.co.nz with their email address and password. The authorised representative can log on multiple times during the Promotional Period to update the Eligible School's tally.

6. At the end of the Promotional Period the authorised representative of the Eligible School must place all the Eligible School's collected logos in an envelope together with a piece of paper with the Eligible School's name, and send to "Making a Difference Promotion" Centacare Industries, PO Box 6246 Lakemba NSW 2195. Mail entries must be received by last mail on 04/12/09.

7. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and Eligible Schools and to disqualify any Eligible School who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's absolute discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

8. Incomplete, indecipherable, illegible or fraudulent entries will be deemed invalid.

9. Eligible Schools must mail all logos as proof of purchase. Failure to mail proof of purchase for all products may, in the absolute discretion of the Promoter, result in invalidation of ALL of an Eligible Schools' entries and forfeiture of any right to a prize.

10. Winner determination will take place on 18/12/09 at midday AEDST. Winners will be notified by telephone and mail. The Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

11. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner(s). Each Eligible School will have their logos tallied and will receive a score which will be determined by the number of logos collected against the number of students at the school ("Logo Score"). For example, if there are 100 pupils at a school and 500 logos are collected, then the Logo Score for that school will be 5.

12. Entries will be divided into Australia and New Zealand:

a) Australia: Entries will be divided into the following State/Territory groups: NSW/ACT, VIC/TAS, SA/NT, QLD and WA. The Eligible School with the highest score from each State/Territory group will be considered for the First Prize, meaning there will be a group of five (5) contenders for First Prize ("First Prize Group"). The Eligible School with the highest Logo Score in the First Prize Group will win the First Prize, consisting of AUD$20,000, a SunRice swimming cap signed by Stephanie Rice for each student (up to 400 swim caps) and a School Swim Clinic conducted by Stephanie Rice. Date and location of School Swim Clinic will be determined by Promoter together with winning school and is subject to Stephanie Rice's availability. Prize must be redeemed by 30/04/10. First Prize valued at up to AUD$24,600.

b) The remaining four (4) Eligible Schools in the First Prize Group will each win Second Prize, consisting of AUD$10,000 and a SunRice swimming cap signed by Stephanie Rice for each student (up to 400 swim caps), valued at up to AUD$12,600.

c) After First and Second Prizes have been awarded, entries will be recombined. The next five (5) Eligible Schools with the highest scores nation-wide will each win Third Prize, consisting of a AUD$2,500 Rebel Sport voucher, and a SunRice swimming cap signed by Stephanie Rice for each student (up to 400 swim caps), valued at up to AUD$5,100.

d) New Zealand: The Eligible School with the highest score will win NZ$10,000.

e) The next five (5) Eligible Schools with the highest scores will each win NZ$2,000 each.

13. In the event that a tie breaker is required to determine the winner/s of First, Second or Third Prize/s, tied Eligible Schools will be required to submit an answer in 25 words or less to the question "Why should our school win?" The winner/s will be determined by a panel of judges based on the literary and creative merit of the answers provided. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

14. All cash prize will be awarded in the form of a cheque and will be awarded to the Eligible Schools.

15. Any ancillary costs associated with the School Swim Clinic or redeeming the Rebel Sport voucher are not included. Any unused balance of the Rebel Sport voucher will not be awarded as cash. Redemption of the Rebel Sport voucher is subject to any terms and conditions of the issuer including those specified on the Rebel Sport voucher.

16. If for any reason a winning school does not take an element of a prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize or that element of the prize will be forfeited.

17. If any prize (or part of any prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification.

18. Total prize pool value is up to AUD$100,500 in Australia and NZ$20,000 in New Zealand. Prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.

19. As a condition of accepting First Prize and participating in the School Swim Clinic, the Eligible School must ensure that each participating student's parent or guardian signs any legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.

20. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to the full extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any Eligible School; (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate; and/or (c) seek damages for any loss its suffers as a result of any interference or attempted interference with the legitimate operation of this promotion.

21. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of this promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter's control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after the Promoter receives it) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) if the School Swim Clinic event is cancelled for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (f) any tax liability incurred by a winner or Eligible School; or (g) use of a prize.

22. The Promoter collects the information of the authorised representative of the Eligible School in order to conduct this promotion and may disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, and prize suppliers. By entering this promotion, authorised representative's consent to the use of their information for the purpose of this promotion as described here. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the authorised representative. Authorised representatives may access, update or correct information by contacting the Promoter via the "contact" link at the bottom of each web page. The Promoter's privacy policy is available via the "privacy policy" link at the bottom of each web page. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
